V1 supports TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels that are about cooking or food preparation. Long-form videos are rejected.

CookTheClip is built for short-form cooking links and clearly labelled recipe estimates. These rules keep Browse separate from private libraries and keep rights, safety, and platform limits visible.

This page is product guidance, not legal advice. Platform usage, copyright workflows, safety wording, and public sharing still need appropriate review for your situation.
Safety-sensitive content
Recipes involving raw meat, eggs, seafood, allergens, deep frying, pressure cooking, pregnancy, children, or medical diets need extra caution and trusted external guidance.
Private stays private
Library recipes are private by default. They must not appear in Browse unless a sharing control makes public status explicit.
Allowed
- TikTok cooking videos, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels only.
- Food and drink clips where the recipe can be estimated from visible, spoken, captioned, or strongly implied signals.
- Clips you are allowed to access and use under the relevant platform, creator, privacy, and copyright rules.
- Public Browse examples that are owned, licensed, permissioned, or otherwise cleared for public use.
Not allowed
- Long YouTube videos, private clips, inaccessible clips, or clips that bypass platform restrictions.
- Non-cooking content, medical nutrition claims, clinical diet plans, allergy-safe guarantees, or baby-food safety claims.
- Dangerous instructions involving unsafe food handling, risky equipment use, illegal content, or unknown foraged ingredients.
- Creator videos, captions, thumbnails, branding, or audio that you are not allowed to copy, redistribute, or commercialise.
When in doubt, do not convert or publish it
Use another source, keep the recipe private, or get permission before relying on a clip for public examples or commercial use.
